A new "NFL RedZone" deal hasn't been secured yet by Scott Hanson, but he does have an exciting job lined up for 2026.
Hanson has been the host of "NFL RedZone" since its premiere in 2009. He has become a fan favorite in the football community due to his enthusiasm on set. It doesn't matter if he's covering a loaded slate or a Sunday snoozefest, he's going to do his best to keep his audience entertained.
During the 2024 Summer Olympics, Hanson hosted a show called "Gold Zone" for Peacock. He worked alongside Andrew Siciliano, Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila.
Apparently, the "Gold Zone" was such a hit that Hanson will return for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
"After crushing it in Paris, I can’t wait to see Scott bring his trademark enthusiasm and passion to the snow and ice of the Winter Olympics," said Molly Solomon, the president of NBC Olympics Production. "Gold Zone was such a success in Paris that we felt compelled to bring it back for Milan Cortina — a Winter Games first for Peacock. And there is no one better equipped to whip viewers from ice hockey to short track to snowboarding and more than the incomparable Scott Hanson."
Hanson confirmed this news with a statement to Front Office Sports.
"I’m thrilled to be back hosting Gold Zone on Peacock for the Winter Olympics in February," Hanson said. "'The Witching Hour’ will once again be ‘The Golden Hour’ as we show you the best moments from every sport as they happen. It’s the biggest Winter Olympics ever—nearly 3,000 athletes, 116 events, and one place to see it all: Gold Zone."
The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Italy and run from February 6-22.
