Post-waiver wire fantasy football pickups for Week 14

Fantasy football playoffs begin next week. Don’t waste this last chance to improve your team. Grab these post-waiver players.

QB: Tyler Huntley ( Baltimore Ravens

In Week 13 against Denver, Huntley completed 27 passes for 187 yards and an interception in relief of injured Lamar Jackson. On paper, those aren’t great numbers. In reality, Huntley drove the team 91 yards in the final minutes to win the game with a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Huntley is no stranger to the Ravens’ system. He played in seven games for Baltimore in 2021, throwing for 1,081 yards and rushing for 294 yards. In a late-season game against Green Bay, Huntley had 36 fantasy points.

At this point of the season, quarterback pickings are slim. Huntley is available in 80% of leagues. He'll never be Jackson, but with his running ability, he offers a safe floor on a team with only 359 passing attempts all season.

RB: Cam Akers (L.A. Rams)

The starter-turned-backup-turned-starter is available in 40% of leagues. In Week 13 against Seattle, he had 17 carries for 60 yards and two touchdowns. The 17 carries were a season high, and he had 19 fantasy points. Rookie RB Kyren Williams had only three touches.

With the season over for L.A., it looks like the Rams would rather run Akers into the ground than risk an injury to Williams. Feel free to squeeze whatever Akers has left into your Week 14 roster.

WR: D.J. Chark (Detroit Lions)

Chark missed six games this season with an ankle injury. Over the past two games, he has 11 targets, and he had 98 receiving yards against Jacksonville last week. Amon-Ra St. Brown will always get more targets, but a healthy Chark could get enough looks to remain fantasy relevant.

Over the past four games, the Lions have averaged 31 points. In Week 14, they play a Vikings team giving up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers. The former Jaguar is available in 75% of leagues. Another injury to St. Brown could make Chark the WR1 on a high-scoring team.

TE: Hunter Henry (New England Patriots)

Henry hasn’t been good, but neither have the Cardinals — New England's Week 14 foe — when it comes to covering tight ends. Arizona gives up almost 20 fantasy points per game to tight ends.

Henry is available in almost 60% of leagues. Roll the dice on Henry and hope Mac Jones finds him in the end zone..

DST: Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have eight sacks, one interception and two fumble recoveries in their past two games. Las Vegas somehow is still mathematically alive for the playoffs.

In Week 14, the Raiders play the Rams, who stink. John Wolford is their starting quarterback, and waiver-claim Baker Mayfield is waiting in the wings.

The Raiders' defense is available in 64% of leagues. With what’s left, Vegas is your best bet.

K: Michael Badgley (Detroit Lions)

Badgley plays the Vikings this week. Kickers have made 16 field goals in the past four games against Minnesota. The Lions' kicker is available in 70% of leagues. Pick him up before you 100% regret it.
