The Kansas City Chiefs just took down the Las Vegas Raiders for their fourth win of the season. Even better, Patrick Mahomes and company did it in dominant fashion, preventing the Sin City franchise from scoring and earning their first shutout victory in 14 years.
Mahomes threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns, connecting with the returning Rashee Rice for two of those TD passes. Isiah Pacheco added one touchdown on the ground for the Chiefs, as the Raiders had no answer for their offense.
Despite the disappointing turn for the Raiders and the fact that the Chiefs had every right to flex their win, both teams showed immense respect toward each other after the game.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and his Raiders counterpart Pete Carroll had a postgame handshake, setting an example for their players to follow their gesture.
Fans took notice of Reid and Carroll's moment, as well as how the rest of the Chiefs and Raiders hugged and dapped up each other after the contest.
"2 Great Coaches," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "Andy Reid Respect Button."
"Reid showed Pete Carroll a lot of respect today. Could have scored at least 40 if He wanted to. Didn't even kick a field goal at the red zone," a fan shared on X.
"Nice sportsmanship," a supporter added.
A fifth poster remarked, "Breath of fresh air when you see Great Sportsmanship."
"THIS is how a game should end! Both teams showing professionalism, win or lose," a social media user stated.
For what it's worth, in his postgame presser, Reid also shared his sympathy for Carroll, whose Raiders have been dealing with injuries. Not only were they without Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers, but they also lost star defensive end Maxx Crosby during the game to knee and back problems.
"My heart goes out to Pete," Reid said, per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN. "The injuries are crushing for him. Especially when 98 goes out of the game ... I know it’s the Raiders, but I hate seeing that happen."
