It's safe to say the NFL loved the moment that Jalen Hurts and Russell Wilson shared after the Pittsburgh Steelers-Philadelphia Eagles game in Week 15.
After the Eagles beat the Steelers, 27-13, on Sunday, Hurts and Wilson met at midfield and shared a postgame handshake. The two quarterbacks also exchanged some pleasantries, with the Philadelphia QB admitting to the Pittsburgh star that he watched him throughout his "whole childhood."
"You paved the way," Hurts told Wilson.
The NFL saw the interaction and quickly shared a video of the moment on social media.
"Generational respect," the league wrote in the caption of its post.
For what it's worth, several fans absolutely loved the exchange as well, with many praising Jalen Hurts for his classy message.
"Jalen Hurts is pure class... his parents raised him right," a fan said. Another one shared, "We love a humble respectful king! Jalen yea u everything."
"Dope asl, Hurts is so humble, I love that about him," a commenter added.
A social media user shared, "So much respect for Russ!! Happy he’s playing well this season!"
"Russ getting his flowers love it," a fifth poster further stated.
Wilson is currently 36 years old, so he only has a 10-year gap with Hurts. Still, when Wilson won his first and only Super Bowl title so far in his second year in the NFL back in the 2013 season, Hurts was still in high school as a 15-year-old kid.
That being said, it's not a surprise why Hurts said Wilson paved the way for him.
Sure enough, though, it's great to see Hurts show Wilson the respect and recognition he deserves.
