The NFL world is in mourning today following the passing of a beloved Super Bowl champion.

On Thursday, multiple outlets reported that former Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman passed away. He was 38 years old and had been battling a rare, aggressive form of cancer.

Texans legend J.J. Watt, who joined the team in the same year as Braman, was among the first to offer his condolences. Watt donated $10,000 to Braman's GoFundMe as he underwent treatments for his cancer.

"Rest in Peace brother. Gone far too soon," Watt wrote.

"Today is a tough day that hits close to home. I always admired Bryan’s ability to overcome life’s obstacles, his passion for the game, and the love he had for his friends and family. Rest in peace, Brother," Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson wrote.

"I didn’t intend on crying this morning. Then I read the news on my teammate, Bryan Braman. Love you Braman. You lived a hard life, and you never complained about it. A champion in life and a warrior in death. It is forever, indeed," Emmanuel Acho wrote.

"Very sad day in the #Eagles family. LB Bryan Braman, a member of the #SuperBowl52 team, playing 4 years with the Eagles. passed away today at the young age of 38. He had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer earlier this year. #RIPBryan," wrote Howard Eskin.

"Bryan Braman’s career was so inspirationally improbable for undrafted guys making a roster. As I recall, he used some of his money to get his teeth fixed because they hurt, made it easier to eat, hold weight. Some of the Texans most enjoyable players went to Eagles as their next," another user wrote on X.

Braman went undrafted out of West Texas A&M in 2011 and joined the Texans as a UDFA. Over his three seasons in Houston, Braman totaled 38 tackles, mostly on special teams, while becoming a fan favorite on the unit.

He spent the 2014 to 2016 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, recording 18 tackles and the first full sack of his career.

After a short stint with the New Orleans Saints to start the 2017 season, Braman was released by the team and joined the Eagles in December. He went on to play in three regular season games and all three of their playoff games en route to winning Super Bowl LII.

Our hearts go out to Braman's family and loved ones.
