On Saturday afternoon, TMZ had heartbreaking news to share involving former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Sanchez, 38, is in Indianapolis this weekend to call the Raiders-Colts game for FOX. He joined the network in 2021 as a game analyst. Prior to the start of the 2025 season, it was revealed that he's getting his own show called "Rearview." FOX describes his show as “weekly interviews with your favorite players, straight from their cars."

According to TMZ, Sanchez was attacked on Friday night in Indianapolis. He was stabbed and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

"Police received a call around 12:30 AM Saturday morning to a street in downtown Indianapolis for two injured people ... and one of the people was the former first-round draft pick," TMZ's report stated. "We're told Sanchez was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. It's unclear what led to the violent incident."
