Zyon McCollum enters Week Two after a productive performance against Cincinnati. The Buccaneers defensive back finished with nine tackles and two passes defensed.
McCollum started the opener and had a huge role against Joe Burrow and Cincinnati’s passing attack. He now gets another opportunity against Cleveland in Tampa Bay’s home opener.
– Total Tackles: 5-8
– Interceptions: 0-1
– Pass Deflections: 1-2
– Forced Fumbles: 0-1
– Tackles for Loss: 0-1
McCollum’s nine tackles showed how active he was throughout the season opener. His two passes defensed also demonstrated his ability to make plays against the pass.
Cleveland struggled to move the football during its Week One loss to Jacksonville. The Browns finished that game with only 10 points.
That could create opportunities for McCollum to make plays near the line of scrimmage. He should also have chances to add another pass deflection against Cleveland.
McCollum has already shown he can produce in coverage. A second straight game with multiple passes defensed would give him another productive afternoon.
– Total Tackles: 7
– Interceptions: 1
– Pass Deflections: 3
– Forced Fumbles: 0
– Tackles for Loss: 1
McCollum should remain heavily involved against Cleveland. His Week One production gives him a strong foundation heading into the home opener.
I expect him to approach another strong tackle total while making several plays in coverage. The interception is possible, but two pass deflections feel more realistic.
Prediction: Seven tackles, one tackle for loss and two passes defensed
