Prescott Has Strong Prediction

There’s plenty of drama inside the Dallas Cowboys training camp this summer. Brian Schottenheimer is the new head coach and is looking to get the Cowboys back to the postseason after they missed last year. That ended a streak of three straight playoff appearances.

Defensive leader Micah Parsons has not participated with the team and is asking for a trade. Owner Jerry Jones hasn’t helped the situation with ongoing comments that seem to alienate his star defender.

One positive for the Cowboys is the health of quarterback Dak Prescott. The 32-year-old looks healthy and confident with two strong receivers to throw to, CeeDee Lamb and new addition George Pickens.

“Positive” might be an understatement. Following a preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, Prescott shook hands with Rams owner Stan Kroenke and made a bold prediction.

“We’ll meet y’all in the NFC Championship.”

Dak Prescott's 2024 Season

Prescott was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career in Dallas. Last season, he played eight games, throwing for 1,978 yards and 11 touchdowns with eight interceptions.

His season ended in Week 9 against the Falcons after suffering a partial avulsion of the right hamstring. He was unable to return for the rest of the year.

Prescott's Career Numbers

With Zack Martin retired and DeMarcus Lawrence gone, Prescott is now the longest-tenured Cowboy. He has played 122 career games, completing 66.8% of his passes for 31,437 yards and 213 touchdowns with 82 interceptions.

Prescott has led Dallas to the postseason five times. In seven playoff games, he has two wins, 14 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

What to Expect from the Dallas Cowboys Offense?

Prescott is locked in as the starter ahead of Joe Milton III and Will Grier. New running back Javonte Williams will take over the lead role, with Miles Sanders and Jayson Blue as backups.

Lamb and Pickens will be the primary targets, joined by Jalen Tolbert. Tight end Jake Ferguson returns, with Luke Schoonmaker backing him up.

Last season, Dallas was middle of the pack in scoring at 20.6 points per game. They averaged 328.4 yards per game, with 227.2 through the air and 100.3 on the ground.

When Will Dak Prescott Play Next?

Schottenheimer has not announced who will play in the next preseason game, set for Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens. The Cowboys’ final preseason matchup is Aug. 22 against the Atlanta Falcons.

When Do the Dallas Cowboys Start the 2025 Season?

Dallas will open the 2025 NFL season against division rival and defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. That game is set for Thursday, Sept. 4, in Philadelphia.
