Pro Bowl QB Josh Allen, Bills agree to six-year, $258 million contract extension

Josh Allen has officially put pen to paper on a six-year contract extension with the Buffalo Bills. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal is worth $258 million with $150 million guaranteed.

Allen was expected to receive a massive extension this summer after having the best season of his career in 2020.

The 24-year-old helped Buffalo go 13-3 in the regular season, completing 69.2% of his passes for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions to lead the Bills to their first AFC East title since 1995.

Allen also set multiple franchise records last season, including passing yards in a season (4,544) and passing touchdowns (37).

Allen now has an average annual value of $43 million, making him the second-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL behind Patrick Mahomes, who earns $45 million per year, according to Over the Cap.

The Wyoming product said in April that he'd "love to be locked down in Buffalo for a very long time." With his new contract keeping him in New York through 2028, that's now a possibility.

With Allen now signed, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Cleveland Browns signal-caller Baker Mayfield are the top two QBs from the 2018 class still looking for large extensions.
