Pro Bowlers George Kittle and Fred Warner headline 49ers team awards following 2024 season

The San Francisco 49ers' 2024 season fell drastically short of their aspirations of a second successive Super Bowl appearance as they slumped to a 6-11 record, but there were still some star performers.

Chief among them was tight end George Kittle, who was named to the Pro Bowl after another outstanding 1,000-yard season. While Fred Warner also named another Pro Bowl nod despite the linebacker playing most of the season with a fracture in his ankle.

So it is not surprising that both of those players were recognized in the Niners' end of season awards.

Here are the recipients of the 49ers' awards:

  • Len Eshmont Award (MVP): George Kittle
  • Bill Walsh Award: Fred Warner
  • Bobb McKittrick Award: Jake Brendel
  • Hazeltine Iron Man Award: Fred Warner
  • Thomas Herrion Memorial Award: Malik Mustapha
  • Ed Block Courage Award: Ricky Pearsall
  • Perry/Yonamine Unity Award: Curtis Robinson
  • Garry Niver Award: George Kittle

Kittle undoubtedly deserves to be the 49ers' MVP. In a year in which several of their weapons were injured or failed to find their best, he was spectacular, finishing with 1,106 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He was first in the NFL in Sports Info Solutions' 'points earned' metric on receiving plays this season.

It is the second time that Kittle has won the award, with the two-time first-team All-Pro also receiving the Garry Niver Award for the way in which he handled his media duties.

Warner, meanwhile, is now a three-time recipient of the Bill Walsh Award, which recognizes professional excellence, and a worthy winner of the Iron Man prize given the injury through which he fought.

Pearsall will head to the Ed Block Courage Award banquet in Baltimore, MD after a season in which he showed tremendous bravery in returning to the field after being shot through the chest in August.

Fourth-round pick Mustapha wins what is, in essence, the 49ers' Rookie of the Year prize, while center Brendel was honored by his fellow offensive linemen for his courage, intensity and sacrifice.

Robinson, the 49ers' Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, claims the Perry/Yonamine Award for his excellent work in the community.
