Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Cincinnati Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase topped the league in receiving yards last fall. However, Pro Football Focus doesn't consider either the best at their position.
Instead, PFF ranked 32 of the NFL's best wide receivers and named Philadelphia Eagles’ A.J. Brown as the top receiver:
Brown dominates defensive backs across the board, but his success against single coverage is especially notable. He earned the highest receiving grade versus single coverage in 2024 (96.6) and leads the league in that category over the past three seasons (2022–24) with a 97.0 grade. He can win in every way, against any defense.
Brown is easily one of the best wide receivers in the league because he’s got the tools and the numbers to back it up. At 6-foot-1 and 226 pounds, he plays like a linebacker with wide receiver speed. In 2024, Brown put up 67 catches for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging over 16 yards a catch. He also showed up big in the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win with three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. Whether it’s breaking tackles, making tough catches in traffic, or burning defenders, Brown does it all. With five 1,000-yard seasons in six years, he’s not just consistent, he’s one of the toughest matchups in the NFL.
As he enters his seventh NFL season, Brown is focused on building off that momentum and continuing to elevate his game.
“It always boils down to just watching film and you just take notes,” Brown said. “You just take notes of what you didn’t do really well last year that may have snuck through the cracks that nobody ever realized but you know deep down. Everybody knows their weaknesses and their strengths. You’re just trying to find new ways to pick a few things and you focus on that in the summer and during OTAs.”
