Pro Football Focus names the most underrated player on the Miami Dolphins' roster
Jim Rassol / USA TODAY NETWORK

Pro Football Focus recently named the most underrated player on each NFL roster and they went with a player for the Miami Dolphins that's coming off a breakout season in 2023.

PFF thinks that defensive lineman Zach Sieler is the most underrated player for the Dolphins.

From PFF: Although Sieler is not an unknown player, he had been living in Christian Wilkins‘s shadow on Miami's interior defensive line. Wilkins' departure in free agency means more eyes will be on Sieler, especially if he can get back to his 2021 form when he was the third-highest-graded interior defender in the NFL. Since he joined the Dolphins in 2019, Sieler has earned an 80.8 PFF overall grade, ranking 22nd among interior defenders.

Sieler was a late round selection by the Baltimore Ravens (Round Seven) in the 2018 NFL Draft.

After being a non-factor as a rookie, Sieler was waved by the Ravens in 2019.

Miami quickly claimed the Michigan native in 2019, but he didn't make an impact for the Dolphins until 2020 when he totaled 48 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 16 games.

Sieler was fantastic in 2021 and 2022, recording 132 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 34 games.

This past season, though, Sieler stuffed the stat sheet for the Dolphins with 63 tackles and a career-high 10 sacks.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact Christian Wilkins leaving in free agency will have on Sieler's production.

While it gives Sieler a bigger opportunity to be "the guy" in Miami, it could also mean that he commands more attention from opposing offensive lines.
