With the 2025 NFL Draft in the rear view, and NFL rosters mostly set, Pro Football Focus predicted a post-NFL draft breakout candidate for each franchise.
And they absolutely nailed their choice for the Denver Broncos.
PFF named rookie running back RJ Harvey as the Broncos' top post-draft breakout candidate.
Harvey, a former UCF standout, was selected by the Broncos in the second round (No. 60 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft.
From PFF: The first rookie to make the list, and one that should have no problem seeing the field in Sean Payton’s offense after the team spent a second-round pick on the former UCF back. Harvey comes into the NFL with a very encouraging production profile, including a 95.1 career rushing grade, which suggests that he can hit the ground running at the next level. After moving on from Javonte Williams in free agency and not signing a replacement, Harvey should immediately establish himself as a workhorse back as a rookie.
After moving from Javonte Williams earlier this offseason, it was a no-brainer that the Broncos were going to select a running back in the draft.
Harvey instantly slots in as the Broncos' top running back option. And there aren't many head coaches in the league (if any) that know how to utilize a talented running back better than Sean Payton.
The Orlando native should receive plenty of opportunities as a rookie in 2025. And because Harvey is joining a playoff-caliber team with a solid roster, he should be able to find instant success in Denver this fall.
