Among the toughest cuts from yesterday, wide receiver Nick Nash was a player many Falcons fans hoped would make the roster. He was a triple crown winner last year in college, leading the country in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
The San Jose State product had a pretty impressive preseason for the Falcons as well, hauling in 12 passes for 136 yards. But in a loaded wide receiver room, it was always going to be a difficult challenge for him to make the 53-man roster, with those final spots often going to players with experience on special teams.
However, while Nick Nash might not begin the season on the active roster, he will remain with the Falcons on the practice squad, according to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.
The #Falcons are bringing back promising undrafted rookie WR Nick Nash on the practice squad, per a source. Nash was the regular-season FBS receiving triple crown winner last season at San Jose State.

Guys don’t put up over 1,300 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns in one season that don’t possess a little upside, and Nick Nash proved he could play throughout the preseason. With Darnell Mooney already dealing with an injury, it’s possible Nash finds himself on the active roster sooner rather than later.
