Proposed Micah Parsons trade sends Ravens' rising star to Dallas in blockbuster deal

After Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons requested a trade, the football world was set ablaze with trade rumors. It is unlikely that the Cowboys will even consider moving the two-time All-Pro anytime soon, but with him becoming disgruntled, his future in Dallas looks bleak.

Parsons undoubtedly deserves an extension. He is one of the premier pass rushers in the NFL, and after several others got paid this offseason, he should be next in line. The contracts of Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett, and T.J. Watt have laid out the blueprint for what should follow, but the Cowboys and Parsons appear to remain far apart in negotiations.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is standing firm on his position that Parsons will remain a Cowboy, pointing out how the extensions of offensive stars Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb played out ahead of past regular seasons. Still, it can be fun to speculate on potential trades, and given the very public nature of Parsons’ trade request, it is hard to imagine there is not even a minute chance he gets dealt.

For The Win’s Cory Woodruff put together five potential trade packages for the Cowboys' pass rusher. Among the teams was the Baltimore Ravens. In the blockbuster deal, Baltimore sends their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks, a 2028 second-round pick, and 26-year-old outside linebacker Odafe Oweh. Woodruff writes:

“The Ravens are trying to win a Super Bowl with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, and throwing caution to the wind to add Parsons would be a coup for Baltimore. Parsons could transform an already loaded Ravens defense and give it the possibility of being the league's best unit.”

Ravens Micah Parsons mock trade sends Odafe Oweh to the Cowboys

Baltimore does not necessarily need Parsons. It would be a scenario where the rich get richer. Kyle Van Noy and Oweh had career-best campaigns in 2024, as Van Noy tallied 12.5 sacks and Oweh had 10. While the former is on the backend of his career, Oweh is just getting started. In this mock trade, Oweh takes his rising talents to the NFC.

If the Cowboys want a proven commodity in the return package of a potential Parsons trade, partnering with the Ravens to do so could make the most sense. Oweh’s 10 sack season was encouraging, and after adding 20 pounds of muscle this past offseason, he has every chance to take over the league in 2025.

Dallas also gets an enticing bundle of picks. While they would likely fall near the end of each round, early-round draft selections are valuable no matter what. Baltimore’s general manager, Eric DeCosta, tends to hold onto his picks, but for a player like Parsons, he should have no issue finalizing the trade on his end.

The main area of concern here, not including Dallas’ resistance to moving Parsons at this current moment, would be the Ravens’ salary cap situation. Both now and in the future, they are low on cap space, and the addition of Parsons would only complicate that situation. However, various extensions, restructures, and roster cuts could eventually free up enough space to make the move work. If the Parsons debacle worsens, a trade like this could soon look realistic.
