Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua took a swipe at the officiating crew following his team's tough loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, but he quickly thought better of it.
During a live stream with internet personality Adin Ross earlier this week, Nacua made some serious allegations about NFL officials. The 24-year-old wideout stunned fans when he suggested that NFL referees enjoy being in the spotlight and probably brag to their friends about making incorrect calls.
There has been speculation that the NFL could fine Nacua over the remarks, and that seems more likely to happen in the wake of a social media post he made after the Seahawks beat the Rams 38-37 on "Thursday Night Football."
In a post on X, Nacua referenced his own remarks about NFL officials botching calls and soaking up the limelight.
"Can you say I (sic) was wrong. Appreciate you stripes for your contribution. Lol," Nacua wrote.
Nacua quickly deleted the post, but not before it was screenshotted by several people.

Nacua expressed regret when reporters asked him about the post.
"Just a moment of frustration after a tough, intense game like that," he said, via NFL.com. "Just thinking of the opportunities that I could've done better to take it out of their hands. Just a moment of frustration."
Nacua was also asked about his previous criticism of NFL officials, and he said the remarks were not a reflection of how he actually feels.
"It was just a lack of awareness and just some frustration. I know there are moments where I feel like, man, you watch other games and you think of the calls that some guys get, and you wish you could get some of those," Nacua said. "But that's just how football is played. I'll do my job in order to work my technique to make sure there's not an issue with a call."
Nacua did everything he could to help the Rams on Thursday night, but they came up just short in overtime. The All-Pro wideout had the best game of his career with 12 catches for 225 yards and two touchdowns.
Nacua is now second in the NFL behind only Jaxon Smith-Njigba with 1,592 receiving yards. That yardage total and his eight touchdowns are already career highs, and the Rams still have two more games.
Rams head coach Sean McVay has been thrilled with Nacua's performance on the field, but it seems like he would prefer if the receiver stopped making headlines off of it.
