Puka Nacua Inactive In Week 3 Vs. Broncos

Puka Nacua was ruled out for the Los Angeles Rams’ Sunday Night Football matchup against the Denver Broncos after missing last week’s home opener with a hip injury.

Nacua has been dealing with a bad hip since the preseason and previously was limited by a separate psoas issue as well. However, he still suited up against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia and caught five passes for 74 yards.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Nacua has been mostly dealing with a groin injury, and while he could return for the Rams’ Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team also isn’t ruling out the star wide receiver getting surgery if he continues being limited:

With Nacua missing the game against the Broncos, the Rams will again be relying on Davante Adams to lead the way. He is coming off a monster game against the Giants, catching eight of his 10 targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

Behind Adams, the Rams are looking at a group that includes Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield, Xavier Smith, CJ Daniels and Tutu Atwell. Whittington is returning after missing last week’s game against the Giants with a quad injury.

Terrance Ferguson also received more looks with Nacua unavailable and once again could be in line for a heavy dose of passes.

The Rams are looking to improve to 2-1 with a win against the Broncos on Sunday night. They will also be without safety Kam Kinchens, who is missing a second consecutive game due to a hamstring injury.

Myles Garrett could miss six weeks

Myles Garrett’s tenure with the Rams did not get off to an ideal start as he missed most of training camp with an undisclosed knee issue.

Garrett thought he would be good to go in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, but he clearly didn’t look like his usual self as he did not record a single stat in the loss. After returning to the States, Garrett underwent surgery to repair his injured right MCL and was placed on injured reserve.

That means he will miss at least four games, although it could stretch to as many as six.
