Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was left bleeding from the head after he took a big hit early in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Nacua caught a 9-yard pass from Matthew Stafford over the middle of the field late in the first quarter at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. He took a big helmet-to-helmet hit from Texans linebacker Henry To’oTo’o, which drew a penalty for unnecessary roughness.

Nacua suffered a cut on his head during the play and had a stream of blood coming down his face. He went to the locker room to get bandaged and be evaluated for a concussion.

Nacua quickly returned to the game with a large bandage above his right eye. Not long after he came back, he took another huge hit that resulted in another 15-yard penalty on the Titans.

Nacua went back into the medical tent after that play so trainers could adjust the bandage.

It is rare for a player to be on the receiving end of two hits that draw unnecessary roughness penalties in the same game. Nacua had it happen to him in a single half, and he looked pretty beat up because of it.
