Another day, another incident of Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua being in the news for something cringeworthy. This time, it's not something he did on video but something he's being taken taken to court over.

According to TMZ, Nacua has been accused of biting a woman and making an antisemitic comment while the two were going out for New Year's Eve. The woman filed a restraining order against Nacua, but the order was denied. Another hearing on the matter is slated for mid-April.

But Nacua's attorney won't let the matter play out in court exclusively. In a statement shared with TMZ's Michael Babcock, attorney Levi McCarthern stated that Nacua vehemently denied any wrongdoing. McCathern pledged to file a defamation lawsuit against the woman and will be pursuing "all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements."

Fan Response

NFL fans seem a bit torn on whose side to take here. On one hand, some of the allegations sound so wild that they strain credulity. On the other hand, Nacua's past misbehavior makes it really hard to take his side on anything:

"Nah. Love watching him play but off the field he’s as bad as it gets. He probably said those things and clearly bit that chick," one user said dismissively.

"Saw this coming. Young guy’s gotta get his off field (expletive) together. He’s 24 and can’t handle his booze. Get this straightened out, kiddo, or kiss that pay day good bye," wrote another.

"This is starting to look fake. I think New Year’s Eve was a few days after Puka got tricked into doing that antisemitic gesture on the podcast So now this woman is using that to set the seed that he might be an actual antisemite. Which I highly doubt," a third remarked.

Nacua burst onto the NFL scene as one of the league’s most productive young receivers after being selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. A standout at BYU, Nacua quickly exceeded expectations as a rookie, setting NFL records for receptions and receiving yards by a first-year player while becoming quarterback Matthew Stafford’s top target. His physical playing style, route-running precision, and yards after the catch helped power the Rams’ offense and earned him Pro Bowl and All-Pro recognition.

Off the field, however, Nacua has faced scrutiny over isolated controversies that briefly overshadowed his on-field success. Reports have included minor legal or conduct-related investigations and social media criticism that sparked debate among fans and commentators, though none resulted in long-term league discipline that significantly altered his career trajectory.
