QB Aaron Rodgers says Jordan Love is now a 'master' of the Green Bay Packers offense

Green Bay Packers third-year quarterback Jordan Love has impressed many during training camp and preseason this month, including the team's 10-time Pro Bowl starter Aaron Rodgers.

"I think he's definitely become a master of the offense," Rodgers said of Love, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "But it's just the little things that are going to help him level up, and a lot of it is footwork and little things like arm angles on run action, his keeper fakes, his hard-action fakes, his run solutions and RPO game, helping to marry up with the running game. That's what I like seeing."

Love, 23, finished a preseason game Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs with 16 completions on 26 attempts for 148 yards. While he didn't throw a touchdown pass and threw one interception, Packers coach Matt LaFleur also heaped praise on the young quarterback.

"I always look at the numbers at the end of it and go, 'That doesn't make sense,'" LaFleur said, via the Press-Gazette. "I thought he did a lot of good things."

Love, a first-round pick in 2020, is under contract for at least the next two seasons, although the Packers have the opportunity to tack on a fifth year if they choose next offseason. Rodgers will turn 39 later this year and signed a three-year, $150.6 million contract extension with the Packers in March.

Last season, Love was forced into action for one regular season start when Rodgers was ruled out due to a positive COVID test. Love finished with 190 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 13-7 loss to the Chiefs.
