QB Trevor Lawrence helping Jaguars become true contenders

Lawrence has the Jaguars sitting in first place in the AFC South with a 3-1 record, and he is playing some of the best football of his career. He has eight touchdowns to just two interceptions through the first four games of the season and just knocked off the Cincinnati Bengals.

Trevor Lawrence’s career turnaround has Jaguars in prime position to contend

The Bengals were thought to have an improved defense this season, so Lawrence’s 227 yards on a 78.3% completion rate was impressive. He is playing efficient football that limits his team’s mistakes and allows Jacksonville’s defense to unleash its full arsenal.

Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has been a revelation for Lawrence, who worked with new coaches and coordinators early in his career. Now with some stability, Lawrence is finally showing the world the player he was touted as since he was in high school.

If his team’s season keeps going like this, it will be back-to-back playoff appearances for Jacksonville with a chance to compete for glory. It was 13-4 last season and narrowly lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Buffalo Bills, so Lawrence could help take his team to the next level.

The Jaguars don’t have many weapons at wide receiver or running back, which makes his play all the more impressive. If they add a real difference-making pass catcher at the trade deadline, then they will have a true chance of contending at the highest level.
