QB Tyrod Taylor '100%' after accidental punctured lung

Veteran journeyman quarterback Tyrod Taylor suffered a punctured lung while accepting a pain-killing injection when he was atop the depth chart of the Los Angeles Chargers in September. The rest, as the saying goes, is history. Justin Herbert cemented himself as the team's starter en route to earning Rookie of the Year honors, and Taylor is set to once again hit free agency.

Taylor, who turns 32 in August, told TMZ Sports that he's 100% coming off the mishap and is ready for whatever is next in his professional journey.

"Everything good," Taylor responded when asked about his health. He also said that he is willing to play "wherever God takes me" in the free agency process but added that he still wants to start in the NFL.

Taylor could get his wish if a team in need of a bridge quarterback, such as the Chicago Bears, views him as an upgrade at the position as the new league year opens on March 17. The Dallas Cowboys, one of the clubs TMZ asked Taylor about during their brief discussion, could officially move on from Dak Prescott and look to Taylor to provide stability at the position.

It's more likely Taylor will be a QB2 for a team next September, but remember that Ryan Fitzpatrick has made a nice living playing the role as backup-turned-starter throughout his career.
