It doesn't hurt Oregon recruiting one bit to have Justin Herbert and Bo Nix shredding up NFL defenses on Sunday.

Yesterday Nix continued his fabulous rookie season by throwing for four touchdowns and 307 yards in Denver's 38-6 win over Kirk Cousins and Atlanta. He was 28-33 passing with just one sack. Standout Oregon receiver Troy Franklin caught one of the touchdown passes.

In pro football's nightcap from Los Angeles, Justin Herbert led the Chargers to a 34-27 victory over Cincinnati, 297 yards passing and two touchdowns, 5 rushes for 65 yards, including a 30-yard run.

The surprising Broncos are 6-5 and in playoff contention. The Bolts are 7-3, the fourth-best record in the AFC.

Herbert took the Chargers on a four-play, 84-yard drive to win the game, his 15th game-winning drive of his career since joining the league in 2020. Only Patrick Mahomes and Kirk Cousins have more, and both have had better weapons for much of that time.

He hit tight end Will Dissly with a 29-yard laser for a 7-3 lead in the first quarter.

His ankle fully healed, Herbert's athletic ability is now an added weapon in the Chargers offense.

Nix's confidence and accuracy increases each week.
