The NFL is revealing their official list of Top 100 current players section by section. Players ranked 30th through 21st were unveiled late on August 21st. Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts became the third Colt to join the list. Kenny Moore II (82) and DeForest Buckner (66) proceeded him.

These rankings come from the compilation of votes of NFL players. This list is a great look at how players view other players.

Quenton Nelson Is Ranked in the Top 30 Players in the NFL

Nelson is ranked between two, defending Super Bowl champions. Nelson is ranked 28th one spot above Bobby Wanger of the Los Angeles Rams, and one spot below Wagner’s quarterback Matt Stafford. 28th overall is good enough to be the highest ranked guard in the league this year. This puts a lot of pressure on the still young lineman, but Colts’ fans know he’s up for the challenge.

The Previous Accolades of the Best Left Guard in the NFL

Nelson has already established himself as a top-tier Left Guard during his four-year carrier. So much so, that Nelson’s name is in the conversation for best guards in the history of the Colts. During the 2021 season Nelson played a total of 767 snaps. Throughout these snaps Nelson was virtually unbeatable, allowing just one sack. This incredible protection was enough to earn him his fourth Pro Bowl nod in as many seasons.

Last season was not the only bright year in Nelson’s carrier, as I said he is a four time Prow Bowler. Nelson has also been named first-team All-Pro three times. He accomplished this by being so versatile, and doing what the team needed him to do. On a pass play he is an immovable wall with incredible footwork. And on run plays he can lead block for Jonathan Taylor fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. When it comes to a do-it-all left guard there is no one better.

Nelson moved up five spots from the same list produced in 2021, his rise in stock should continue after an offseason where he focused on his health and body. Nelson came to training camp ready to gel with his fellow offensive lineman, to create a forceful unit other teams will dread facing. This is great new for the Indianapolis Colts.
