Quinn Ewers has watched from the sideline as Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins have begun the 2025 NFL season with a 0-3 record. Ewers, after falling to the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, was able to earn a spot on the Dolphins roster, sitting behind Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson, but has yet to see any real playing time.
Following their 31-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, Ewers and the Dolphins had over a week off before their next game against the New York Jets in Week 4's edition of "Monday Night Football." So, with some extra time this weekend, the former Texas Longhorns quarterback elected to attend a top-25 college football clash.
On Saturday, Ewers traveled to Norman, Oklahoma, where the No. 11 Sooners defeated the No. 22 Auburn Tigers 24-17. While he wasn’t necessarily cheering for Texas’ Red River rival, Ewers attended the Week 4 game with his girlfriend, Madelyne Barnes, a student at the University of Oklahoma.
Barnes shared a photo of the two in Norman on social media, with the Oklahoma student dressed in Sooners gear while Ewers stayed neutral.
"@quinn_ewers in Norman for a gameday!!," Barnes wrote on her Instagram Story.
During his three seasons at Texas, Ewers faced Oklahoma three different times in the Red River Rivalry, securing a 2-1 record. In those games, the NFL rookie completed 72-of-97 passes for 834 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions while adding another score on the ground.
During Oklahoma’s win over Auburn, Ewers and Barnes watched a quarterback duel between Jackson Arnold and John Mateer. Mateer, however, stole the spotlight, throwing for 271 yards and accounting for two touchdowns, including the go-ahead scoring run for the Sooners with just under five minutes remaining.
