With the New York Jets’ parade of head coaching interviews continuing, Quinnen Williams has weighed in on his preference.
Replying to the Instagram post from the Jets’ official social media account saying that the team completed their interview with Aaron Glenn, Williams posted a pair of “fingers crossed” emojis.

While it is unsurprising that Williams would prefer a defensive head coach, he does not appear to have any direct ties to Glenn. Theoretically, the only time the pair would have crossed paths was when the Jets lost to the Lions 20-17 in the 2022 season.
However, Williams may have heard from other players around the league about how player-friendly Glenn is.
“You have to be relatable, all right, the players have to be able to sit down and talk to you and have a conversation,” Glenn said on The Pivot Podcast a few years back.
“There are so many players I’ll talk to this day say, ‘I’ve never had a chance to just sit and talk with a coach. I’ve never had a chance to have interaction and confrontation with the coaches.’ I’m like, ‘I gotta shut up.’ And I said, ‘No, man, tell me exactly what your issues are, right? And we can talk about it.'”
Still, Glenn seems to possess the qualities of a leader, at least to whatever extent outsiders can recognize them.
I’m sure people are losing their spit in @Michael_Nania replies right now, but I wouldn’t so quickly dismiss this idea. DET’s OL is utterly dominant, and it’s this that allows the offensive innovation to blossom. How much of the dominant OL is BJ’s doing? I think BJ should get… https://t.co/eElvfmrrG6

Whatever it is about Glenn that Williams likes, he has cast his vote for Jets head coach. So has Glenn’s former Jets teammate , cornerback Victor Green.
It remains to be seen who the Jets will choose. They seem to be prioritizing previous head coaching experience, which would not lean toward Glenn.
Still, multiple NFL sources have linked Glenn to the Jets and Saints. Josina Anderson wrote that there’s a belief the two teams will battle it out for Glenn.
If so, at least one Jets player would be thrilled.
