The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense last season was one of the best in football under Liam Coen, but now it is Josh Grizzard taking the wheel with Coen now the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach.
Some are skeptical about Grizzard and this being his first time as a coordinator, but he was the passing game coordinator under Coen last season, so things might stay relatively the same for Baker Mayfield and Co. scheme-wise.
Still, the bar is set rather high for Grizzard because there is now an expectation that this offense will continue to roll along, especially with the drafting of Emeka Egbuka in the first round to give the offense yet another weapon.
But can the offense actually be better in 2025? Running back Rachaad White thinks it can be.
"Obviously, we was pretty good last year, like really good," White said. "I think we could just take that to a whole other level. I think the good part about it is we got a lot of guys that's kind of good in space, obviously Mike [Evans] and having Chris [Godwin] out there and they do what they do, but just us, when we get the ball out in space, just making plays and, being playmakers."
There's no doubt that the Buccaneers are built to put up points, and when looking at the weapons at Mayfield's disposal, it's the envy of the NFL.
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Egbuka, Jalen McMillan, Cade Otton, and running backs Bucky Irving and White, that is quite a group of players, but Grizzard has to get the most out of them.
Some are skeptical of what the Buccaneers' offense will become under Grizzard, given he is also a first-time play-caller, but White thinks the unit can go up another level compared to last season.
That's a high bar to reach, but it's one that Tampa Bay feels like it can clear.
