Raheem Morris garnering head coaching interest

For anyone who feels bad for former Falcons head coach Raheem Morris after he was fired just hours after Atlanta’s Week 18 win over the Saints, it doesn’t look like it’s going to take very long for him to find another job. The only question is whether it will be as a head coach or a defensive coordinator.

Dianna Russini was the first to report that Morris is already expected to be part of the conversation for several of the league’s vacant head coaching positions.

Peter Schrager reported later that the Titans are one of the teams Morris will be interviewing with.

It would be somewhat surprising if Morris landed another head coaching opportunity in the same hiring cycle in which he was fired, but it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility. As of now, the pool of candidates isn’t exactly robust with proven head coaches or hot-shot coordinators, and many of the current openings are far from desirable. It wouldn’t be shocking to see some of the league’s top candidates pass on jobs this offseason in hopes of landing in a better situation next year.

Regardless, Raheem Morris is very likely to be back in the NFL next season.
