Raiders activate Cole Fotheringham and Jakob Johnson from the practice squad
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders made a practice squad elevation because of a recent development with their roster that could be a big issue.

When the Saturday injury report came out for the Raiders, it stated that rookie tight end and starter Michael Mayer would be out. Later, we figured out that Jesper Horsted, the third-string tight end, would be out as well.

That would leave just Austin Hooper as the only tight end on game day. So, the Raiders made an elevation.

The team's Twitter account announced that they are elevation full back Jakob Johnson, for blocking purposes, and Cole Fotheringham, both off of the practice squad. The Raiders liked what they saw in Fotheringham in the preseason.

The Raiders are taking on the Chiefs, so they will need all of the help they can get.
