Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium Hosting CONCACAF Gold Cup’s A Good Sign

Amid positive trends surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Las Vegas Raiders are in the news once again.

While the country is far from being ‘back to normal,’ sports and entertainment are slowly getting back to normalcy. Las Vegas is home to Allegiant Stadium, a modern marvel in the middle of a desert oasis. However, it hasn’t been properly inaugurated since its opening last year. The Silver and Black have yet to play in front of a sold-out home crowd but 2021 might be a different story. Recently, news came out that Vegas powerbroker MGM president Bill Hornbuckle and his company are making strides in the reopening effort. Well, now there’s more positive news on that front, especially for any of you soccer aficionados.

Raiders football will be back in no time…

ESPN’s U.S. soccer correspondent Jeff Carlisle covered the recent announcement that the CONCACAF will be hosting its Gold Cup final on August 1st at Allegiant Stadium. This coincides with our recent article where July appears to be the goal as far as a return to fan attendance. Historically, this will be the first time that Las Vegas hosts a Gold Cup final.

Even if you don’t care for soccer, Raider Nation should certainly rejoice with this development. Signs are certainly trending towards fans being able to enjoy their live Raiders football experience again.
