Maxx Crosby has been one of the few bright spots for the Las Vegas Raiders this season as they came into Sunday's Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts looking to end their losing streak at three.
Considering the Colts jumped out to an early 20-3 lead in the first half, the Raiders' losing streak appears on track to continue. However, the four-time Pro Bowl selection at defensive end, who was at the center of trade rumors last season, continues to showcase why the team fought so hard to retain him.
Back in March, the Raiders and Crosby agreed to a three-year deal worth $106.5 million, with $91.5 million of it being guaranteed. While the team continues to struggle as they have for roughly all of his seven years, Crosby continues to show why he was worth the big bucks.
During Sunday's game, the former Eastern Michigan star made a bit of history as shared by the team.
To the surprise of no one who watches the Raiders, Crosby is getting to the quarterback at an elite clip.
"DE Maxx Crosby (@CrosbyMaxx) now has 150 career QB hits in his 100th career game," wrote the team. "He is now one of just seven defensive linemen in the NFL since 2000 to reach 150 QB hits in his first 100 career games."
Unfortunately for Crosby, his historical efforts are continuously overshadowed by the team's huge flaws on offense. Whether or not the Raiders will be able to find a solution this season or in the near future is unclear, but at least they know they have one of the sport's best passrushers.
Crosby came into Sunday with 19 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
