Raiders are thankful for RB Josh Jacobs

If the Raiders made a list of what they're thankful for, running back Josh Jacobs sits atop the table.

Despite the team's struggles (3-7), Pro Football Focus graded Jacobs as the league's best running back through Week 11 over other stars like Derrick Henry (Titans) and Saquon Barkley (Giants).

Jacobs deserves the praise. Through 10 games, he's third in rushing yards (930) and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns (seven). He's third on the Raiders in receptions (34) and receiving yards (251).

"Jacobs should be a lock to be an All-Pro selection this year," said PFF's Marcus Mosher on Twitter.

If Jacobs continues to rush for 93 yards per game, he will surpass the 1,500 yard-mark, setting a new career high.

Coincidentally, the Raiders appeared to lose faith in Jacobs after they refused to pick up his fifth-year option this off-season and reduced his carries to a career-low (217) in 2021.

However, new head coach Josh McDaniels believed in Jacobs, making him a focal point when he interviewed for the job. McDaniels increased his workload. He's averaged around 18 carries per game in 2022.

Giving him a substantial role paid off since he became the offense's main entree rather than its side dish.
