Raiders CB Tyler Hall Ready for Bigger Role in 2023
USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the youngest cornerback rooms in the NFL.

Ten of the 12 cornerbacks currently on the roster are 25 years old or younger. The oldest player in the cornerback room is Brandon Facyson, who is 28 years old.

While many of the corners on the Raiders are young, many of them have high ceilings and the potential to be quality players. One of those players is Tyler Hall, who is entering his second year with the team.

Hall played just 218 snaps last season for the Raiders, but in those snaps, allowed just nine completions on 18 targets and a passer rating of just 56.3, according to Pro Football Focus. He also totaled 12 total tackles and four passes defended.

With all the youth on the team at cornerback, Hall has a great chance to earn more snaps and become a fixture on the Raiders’ defense.

Hall played in seven games with the Raiders, his first appearance coming in week 11 against the Denver Broncos, a game in which he recorded a sack. His best games came against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers, in which he posted three total passes defended.

Hall was the Raiders’ second-highest graded defensive player on Pro Football Focus at 86.9, just behind Maxx Crosby.

Hall is a smart player who made the most of his limited snaps last season. When he was targeted, he was making plays on the ball. With the way he ended the season, Hall should carry momentum into this season and give himself a shot at being an important player for the Raiders’ defense.

The Raiders’ cornerback room is full of unproven youth and question marks, and some of the starting jobs are up for grabs. The offseason is a time for players to not only emerge as starters, but even potential stars.

Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham is looking for answers in his secondary after the team did not perform well last season. Hall could be one of those answers, as he showed that he is capable of taking on a bigger role in 2023.
