Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll is currently busy with two jobs.
He is doing his daily duties with the Raiders but is also teaching a class at USC. Carroll has been teaching a "The Game is Life" class at the school each Thursday and will teach the course through the end of the semester.
“I said I was going to be here for them and see it through. I was committed and stayed committed. I didn’t let anything get in the way of that," Carroll told Sam Farmer and Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.
Carroll was the head coach of USC's football team from 2001-09 (nine seasons) and compiled a 97-19 record. He helped the school bring home a national title during the 2004 season when USC went 13-0.
He loves teaching at the school but doesn't allow his students to use their laptops. That's a common occurrence in most college classes around the country since it allows students to take notes but Carroll doesn't want that.
Teaching assistant Abby Louderback confirmed to Farmer and Klein that students follow the rules and are "focused" when they are in the class.
“I’ve been in other classes where even though they say no laptops, people still pull them out and are doing their own thing. I think a lot of the students are actually just really into it. They keep their electronics away and are so focused," Louderback said.
It's awesome that the students love the class and they may take multiple things from it in the future.
Carroll is also gearing up for the 2025 NFL Draft in a little over two weeks. The 2025 NFL Draft will take place from April 24-26 in Green Bay.
