It feels illogical to look at a 1-3 team like the Las Vegas Raiders and think they will buy during the trade deadline on Nov. 4.
However, the Raiders will almost certainly look at the options they can take. Jakobi Meyers’s trade request is still on the table, and the team could use their slow start as a means to change course and get something out of a player who could already have one foot out the door. From there, it would be a matter of what the Raiders could get for him.
However, the Raiders could end up going an unconventional route when it comes to deadline day, especially if recent reports are to be believed.
According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Seattle Seahawks are being looked at in terms of a potential deal for cornerback Riq Woolen.
With #Seahawks star CB Devon Witherspoon returning on Thursday, teams are monitoring Pro Bowl CB Riq Woolen as a possible trade target by the deadline, sources tell The Insiders.

Unsurprisingly, when it came to destinations for Woolen, the Raiders came up as one of the leading candidates.
“The most obvious destination would be Vegas, where former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll now resides. Carroll is the one who picked Woolen in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft, which seemed like an all-time steal at the end of his rookie season. While Woolen has dropped off since, the Raiders are pretty weak at cornerback and need all the help they can get in a brutal AFC West race,” wrote Sports Illustrated’s Tim Weaver.
If the Raiders are still trying to handle Meyers’s trade request, a swap between the veteran wide receiver and Woolen would kill two birds with one stone.
The struggles of the Raiders’ secondary have been well-documented to this stage, but Meyers would fix an issue with the Seahawks as well. While Seattle has Jaxon Smith-Njigba as a top wide receiver, Meyers would be an excellent fit on the opposite side while Cooper Kupp remains in the slot. The Seahawks have their eyes set on a playoff spot thanks to a 3-1 start, and using Woolen as bait to bring in a player like Meyers would be in line with what a team with such aspirations would do.
With over a month remaining until deadline day and plenty of season left to go, Woolen is a name to remember if rumors begin to materialize into something more.
