Raiders' final injury report for Week 16 vs. Chiefs
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders are lined up to play on Christmas Day against the Kansas City Chiefs. The week started great for them, as interim head coach Antonio Pierce told us that most of the key guys who are dealing with injuries are going to do whatever it takes to play. That meant Maxx Crosby, Kolton Miller, Josh Jacobs, Andre James, Michael Mayer, Robert Spillane, and so on.

That's great to hear, especially when you are as close to making the playoffs as the Raiders are, even when this is a team that probably shouldn't make the playoffs because of the draft position. They likely won't make it just because they have a tough schedule but also need a lot of things to go right. But the players still want to.

We know those players listed would try to play, especially Maxx Crosby and Josh Jacobs, and while they are questionable, which means they likely will play because that's just who they are, there was a setback at the end of the week. The Raiders' great news went to bad very quickly.

After a full week of practice, it appears the Raiders will for sure be without rookie tight end Michael Mayer, who has been ruled out. That's a massive blow, especially when you look at how the rookies on offense have played the last few weeks.

As far as the other guys, Antonio Pierce had a pretty good quote when asked if they would play or not.

"I expect all the guys to play… I mean, it's that kind of game, right? Suit up. What are you waiting for? Suit up. Let's go play some football," Pierce said. "Nobody is healthy. Ready to go? We'll be ready to go."

As for the Chiefs, they will be without Jerick McKinnon, their best pass-catching running back, as well as pass-pro running back; Kadarius Toney, which is honestly a loss for the Raiders considering how many drops he has on the year; Mecole Hardman, and Donovan Smith.
