Raiders GM drops update on Maxx Crosby's trade situation

Earlier in the offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens sent shockwaves through the league with a blockbuster trade.

The Ravens agreed to send two first-round picks to get superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby, only to back out of the deal hours later due to alleged medical concerns.

Crosby happily returned to Sin City and embraced his role with the franchise, but speculation about his future persists.

That's why, in a sit-down with NFL insider Charles Robinson, Raiders general manager John Spytek shut down any potential trade rumor regarding his star pass rusher.

Maxx Crosby isn't available for a trade... For now

“People do what they do,” Spytek said. “I’m just trying to make the Raiders as good as possible. Right now Maxx is here and I have every expectation that he’ll be here.”

That said, it all can change quickly in this line of business, and he didn't say he'll be there for the remainder of the season.

Crosby called out the organization when they tried to shut him down for the final two games of the 2025 season, as meaningless as they were. He won't take it lightly if that happens again.

So, if he shows he's fully healthy and his surgically repaired knee won't be an issue, and the Raiders struggle early on, this could be a conversation again.

The Raiders are trending in the right direction, but it might be a while before they're actually competitive. Crosby may not fit that timeline.

So, while he acknowledged that Crosby is there 'right now,' that doesn't necessarily mean he'll stay there past the trade deadline.

Trade rumors won't go away any time soon, and while teams might not give up two first-rounders to get him after the injury concerns, he should still fetch a strong value in return.
