Raiders Have Requested To Interview These Four Head Coaches

Earlier this week, the Las Vegas Raiders made the much-anticipated decision to fire their head coach, Antonio Pierce. It's the second straight season now in which they've fired their head coach, and the third in four in which the coach has either resigned, or been fired.

As the Raiders join the coaching search with the rest of the NFL this offseason, there are naturally a few different candidates that stand out above the rest, as well as some candidates Raider nation wants more than others.

The Raiders have requested to interview four different candidates. The Athletic's Tashan Reed presented them below.

Obviously, the first name that stands out is Ben Johnson. Johnson was one of the top candidates last offseason as well, but he decided to stay with the Detroit Lions. There, he has engineered arguably the best offense in the league, and is one of the top candidates in this cycle. If the Raiders landed him, it'd be a home-run of a hire.

He's not the only Lions coach Las Vegas seems to be interested in. They also requested to interview their defensive coordinator, Aaron Glenn. Glenn has oversaw a defense that's remained strong despite being ravaged by injuries this year.

There's also Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who the Raiders know very well. Spagnuolo has done an excellent job there, and would be a great hire.

The newest request is Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Monken has done a great job in Baltimore, but his experience with Brock Bowers is notable. Monken was Georgia's offensive coordinator when Bowers was there, and he's engineered a terrific offense wherever he's coached.
