Raiders HC Josh McDaniels takes the blame after ugly shutout loss to Saints

On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders suffered a humiliating 24-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints, falling to 2-5 on the season.

After the game, head coach Josh McDaniels took the blame for the Raiders' first shutout loss since 2006.

"If you're going to point a finger, point it at me," McDaniels told reporters

The Raiders looked ill-prepared for a game they had to have if they had any hopes of getting back into the playoff hunt in the AFC.

"I have to do a much better job of getting ourselves ready to go - we're better than that," McDaniels said. "I apologize to Raider Nation for that performance, and I own that. That's my responsibility.

"It starts with me, and we're gonna work hard, and we're gonna fix it."

As the patience of Raiders' fans continues to get thinner and thinner, some have called for McDaniels' job after Sunday's ugly performance. While it's unclear whether or not McDaniels is on the hot seat, ESPN's Paul Gutierrez reports that McDaniels and Raiders' owner Mark Davis had a "lengthy" meeting following the game.

McDaniels and the Raiders will have an opportunity to turn things around quickly, as their next three games come against teams with losing records.

Next Sunday, the Raiders will travel to take on the 2-6 Jacksonville Jaguars before dates with the Indianapolis Colts (3-4-1) and Denver Broncos (3-5).
