The Las Vegas Raiders are wasting no time finding their next general manager, conducting a series of interviews this week according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Vegas relieved Mike Mayock of his post last week following three whirlwind seasons as GM of the Silver and Black. The same day, the team submitted a request to interview New England Patriots director of player personnel Dave Ziegler to fill the position, as well as Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo for the head-coaching position.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter: The #Raiders requested permission to interview Patriots ILB coach Jerod Mayo for HC and Patriots director of player personnel Dave Ziegler for GM.

Mayo has helped with DC responsibilities and Ziegler once worked in the AFC West with Denver.
While some outlets believe the Raiders shouldn't rush into filling the GM spot so soon after their season has ended, it isn't surprising the organization wants to make big changes after a controversy-filled season on and off the field. After impressing at the start of the season winning their first three games, Vegas was embroiled in drama due to the resignation of former coach Jon Gruden and the fatal car crash involving standout wide receiver Henry Ruggs III.
The Raiders also have free agency to focus on, with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota's contract set to expire and Derek Carr's future potentially tied to whoever comes in as head coach.
