Pete Carroll made a big hire for his Las Vegas Raiders coaching staff.
By hiring 2024 Ohio State offense coordinator Chip Kelly for the same position in Las Vegas.
Back to the NFL: Former Eagles HC Chip Kelly is being hired as the Raiders offensive coordinator, per me and @PeteThamel.

Since Carroll was announced as the Raiders head coach, many began wondering who he would look to add to his staff, especially at his three coordinator positions. First, the team named Patrick Graham as their defensive coordinator, and now Kelly as their offensive coordinator.
This came as a shock to many, with most expecting Darrell Bevell, who worked with Carroll on the Seattle Seahawks from 2011 to 2017. Bevell currently works as the offensive pass-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins. Instead of going that route, though, the Raiders landed a coach that nearly every team's fan base who had an offensive coordinator opening was begging for: Chip Kelly.
Kelly most recently served as Ohio State's offensive coordinator for the 2024 season where he helped the team win a National Championship. During his coaching career, he also served as a head coach for UCLA (2018-2020), the San Francisco 49ers (2016), the Philadelphia Eagles (2013-2015), and Oregon (2007-2012). Kelly had a pretty sweet gig in Columbus at Ohio State, so it feels safe to assume his respect for Carroll probably played a major role in bringing him back to the NFL.
