Raiders' pass rush cannot continue the same game plan against the Packers
USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders can make some noise on Monday Night Football and turn their season around. A win wouldn't turn the season all the way around, but it would be the start of that. However, this game starts with defense because the Packers have a pretty good offense that is somewhat slept on.

The defense has averaged the same amount of points allowed through four games as they did through the first four last season. However, this defense feels a tad bit better, especially in the second half. Against the Los Angeles Chargers, they did not give up a point in the second half.

There is one thing with this defense that has to change, whether it be the game plan or the players' effort. Either way, against the Packers, we need to see something different.

Raiders pass-rush needs a change vs. Packers

The Raiders have been ad this season regarding a pass rush or just making the quarterback uncomfortable in general. Well, I take that back; Maxx Crosby has been amazing and is actually putting together a DPOY type of year. However, because of the defense he is on, he won't win it.

However, if his defensive line could give him a little more help, we would see a defense that is at least average. ESPN recently gave a statistic showing how bad Crosby's teammates have been

Matchup X factor: Raiders pass-rushers outside of Maxx Crosby. Las Vegas is getting nothing from that group. Bilal Nichols, Adam Butler, Tyree Wilson, John Jenkins, and Jerry Tillery all have a 6% pass rush win rate or worse. The Raiders' defense needs more. -- Walder, ESPN

If the Raiders do the same thing they have been doing against the Packers, we will only continue to see much of the same thing. They have to come up with something better.
