Raiders Poach Another Coach From Ohio State

The Las Vegas Raiders' coaching staff is starting to fill and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is putting some of his own touches. According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247 Sports, Las Vegas is hiring Ohio State offensive graduate assistant Sean Binckes to be part of their offensive staff.

Binckes is a young coach and this should be a major promotion for him. It remains to be seen exactly what his role will be. It's unlikely Kelly will give him a job that requires a bit more experience. He could simply be an offensive assistant for now but the fact that Kelly wanted to bring him along with him to the Raiders is interesting sign.

Binckes got his coaching start at Nassau Community College before moving up to FIU and then Temple. He had only been with Ohio State for two years. Notably, he played tight end in college at LIU. It's possible he could have a role helping Luke Steckel coach tight ends.

He also has experience coaching wide receivers. Raiders wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett was not retained this year so the team will likely shake up that aspect of their coaching room. That could lead to Binckes having a prominent role there.
