The Las Vegas Raiders are still left with questions to answer in the offseason.

Although the hiring of general manager John Spytek on Wednesday and head coach Pete Carroll on Friday cleared the air, the Raiders still need to solve their quarterback mystery.

The good news is that they will have plenty of resources to accomplish the latter, with over $90 million in cap space and eight draft picks in April.

The Raiders hold all of their original picks in this draft, as well as the third-round selection of the New York Jets after the Davante Adams trade in October.

That number is set to increase, however, due to decisions made in the previous offseason.

Last spring, the Raiders lost cornerback Amik Robertson to the Detroit Lions and defensive tackle Bilal Nichols to the Arizona Cardinals in free agency. As a result, the team is now set to acquire a pair of compensatory picks.

According to Over the Cap, the Raiders are expected to get two sixth-round picks as a result of losing Robertson and Nichols. These two picks will be towards the end of the round after the normal rotation of 32 selections.

While sixth-round prospects typically do not move the needle, the Raiders will not complain about the extra draft capital. With the team needing help almost everywhere, more chances to acquire crucial depth pieces are appreciated.

That said, the Raiders know what needs to be done. They need to find a franchise quarterback at some point in the near future.

Despite former general manager Tom Telesco having a strong first draft, the failure to find an answer under center got him fired after just one season. With Mark Davis’s patience in question, Spytek will need to have a plan in that department to avoid a similar fate.

Regardless, the extra picks will help the Raiders in their efforts to rebuild.
