Raiders' QB drama overshadows Davante Adams eclipsing a Hall of Famer

The drama of the Las Vegas Raiders QB situation overshadowed Davante Adams topping Pro Football Hall of Famer Tim Brown's team record for receiving yards in a season.

In a 37-34 loss to San Francisco on Sunday, Adams had seven receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns, giving him 1,443 yards for the season. Brown had held the team mark of 1,408 yards, set in 1997.

Per NFL Research, it was Adams' 15th game with more than 100 yards and multiple receiving TDs. Only Hall of Famers Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison have more.

On Sunday, backup QB Jarrett Stidham made his first career start after the Raiders benched Derek Carr for the remainder of the season. Adams, however, seems to flourish regardless of QB.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Las Vegas will seek a trade involving Carr. Stidham isn't considered a long-term starter, which means the Raiders probably will seek an upgrade at the position in the offseason.

In 17 seasons, Brown played with 19 quarterbacks, Las Vegas should settle on one — preferably a star — and not waste Adams' prime.
