Training camp and the preseason are coming to a close, leaving NFL teams with serious decision to make.
For the Las Vegas Raiders, the preseason ends on Saturday when they face the Arizona Cardinals. From there, the Raiders will have less than 72 hours to create their final 53-man roster when the cutoff date arrives on Tuesday. If there is any chance for a player on the roster bubble to earn their spot, this week is the last chance to prove it.
With time running out, the Raiders will be watching everything carefully to ensure they make the best decisions.
On Tuesday’s practice, wide receivers Alex Bachman and Marquez Callaway stood out as top performers as they hope to land on the 53-man roster.

Combine that with the strong preseason performances of Shedrick Jackson, and the Raiders find themselves with a logjam at the final receiver spot.
The Raiders already have Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker, Dont’e Thornton Jr. and Jack Bech as locks to make the roster from their receiver group. Sixth-round rookie Tommy Mellott is still making the transition from quarterback to wide receiver, but it is expected that he will make the roster so the Raiders can ensure that he can still develop in their system. That leaves Bachman, Callaway and Jackson competing for the sixth and final receiver spot on the roster, and that is assuming the Raiders do not decide to add anyone else to the room.
Expect this trio to put together strong performances as they hope to grab what is likely one final spot on the Raiders’ roster.
