Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty just showed another side of his athleticism that fans may not have seen yet

The Las Vegas Raiders know exactly what they're getting in Ashton Jeanty -- they know that they just drafted an athletic freak who has the potential to be the best running back in the league -- a guy who often gets the "generational" tag.

With the worst rushing offense in the league last year by a wide margin, the Raiders needed an RB very badly. They weren't bad solely because of the RB room, but that was one of the reasons. They think that running it back with most of the same offensive line is a smart and okay thing, especially since they upgraded the RB position.

Jeanty has this potential to be so good because of all of the things we see on the tape and just by looking at him. He has great balance, takes contact well, and can even catch the ball out of the backfield well.

And, he's shown some of that with a great minicamp.

"Ashton looks every bit what we had hoped he would look like," Pete Carroll told reporters during mandatory minicamp. "He caught the ball really well. He understood stuff, took everything really seriously, and gave terrific effort throughout. We made a big deal to him. Everybody's watching you, and he embraced the thought of it. And so, it's going to be really exciting to see what happens."

Oh, and did I mention he's an athletic freak?

He showed that even more, with a side that fans may not have seen from him before, doing a back flip, or back-tuck, as some would say, during what looks to be some sort of youth football camp. And, yes, he's somewhat short and built, so you may expect him to be able to do that, but news flash -- that's a lot harder than it looks.

Jeanty is a freak, and we will soon get to see that even more. Hopefully, fans get to see it against some of the teams they hate the most, like the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos, teams where they will need him most to try and fight for the division or wildcard spot.
