The Las Vegas Raiders' roster has been in constant flux ahead of the 2025 NFL season. That's because general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll have been trying hard this offseason to make changes to a team that only won four games a season ago.
On Sunday, the team announced that they were releasing veteran wide receiver Kyle Philips and undrafted free agent tight end Pat Conroy, both of whom joined the Silver and Black earlier in the offseason.
To replace them, the team signed wide receiver Kawaan Baker and former Denver Broncos fourth-round tight end Albert Okwuegbunam.
Okwuegbunam played just three seasons for the Broncos before being waived. He ended up signing with the Philadelphia Eagles and playing one season before signing with the Indianapolis Colts and never appearing in a game.
All told, he has appeared in just 30 games throughout five seasons in the league. His best campaign came in 2021, when he caught 33 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns for the Broncos.
At 6-foot-5 and nearly 260 pounds, Okwuegbunam is a big and physical player. He also ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine back in 2020, which is incredibly fast for a player of his size.
He'll have a hard time earning any snaps with All-Pro Brock Bowers in front of him, as well as Michael Mayer, who has been emerging this offseason, and veteran Ian Thomas, who has impressed at training camp.
