The Las Vegas Raiders have been mostly unscathed for much of the offseason. Christian Wilkins was the only major injury red flag, but he was recently let go.
The Raiders decided to hold a mock game at Allegiant Stadium to give fans a closer look at the new team. While it was a great experience for fans, the team did suffer what could be a long-term loss.
Lonnie Johnson Jr. was one of several new defensive backs the Raiders signed this offseason. The former Houston Texans second-round pick was competing to be a starting safety, but his season might be over.
During a play, defensive end Maxx Crosby rolled up on Johnson's ankle. He wasn't able to get up and had to be carted off the field.

After practice, head coach Pete Carroll described the injury as "significant." It remains to be seen what the exact severity of the injury is, but things aren't looking good. Johnson has bounced around the NFL for much of his career, and the Raiders could've been a chance for him to find a long-term home. The team and Johnson have to hope that he'll be back at some point this season.
There's not much Johnson can do right now. His season could be over, which would be a huge blow for a player looking for a long-term home. In the meantime, he's doing his best to keep his head up.
"Imma soldier chin up chest out," Johnson wrote on X. "God got me."
Based on that message, it certainly sounds like he suffered a pretty significant injury. If that's the case, the Raiders would be wise to bring in another defensive back soon, as they are already very light on experience in the secondary.
