Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers Etched His Name into the NFL History Books on Monday Night

It wasn't all bad for the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night.

While the Raiders now hold a ten-game losing streak—something no team wants to endure—their fight and determination were clear in the narrow 15-9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Even more so, wideout Jakobi Meyers found himself in rare air after hauling in five receptions for 59 yards. With the outing, Meyers became one of only one of only six undrafted players in NFL history to record 800+ receiving yards in at least four of their first six seasons in the NFL, joining Antonio Gates, Drew Pearson, Gary Clark and Rob Moore and Rod Smith.

Meyer's season-long stat line has been one of the lone bright spots for the Raiders in 2024 as the six-year man out of the NC State has recorded 71 catches for 802 receiving yards to go along with a pair of touchdowns.

His best game of the year came against one of the top defenses in the National Football League in the Denver Broncos as he racked up 121 yards on ten catches.

While the Raiders' remaining games may be largely meaningless, players like Jakobi Meyers give fans something to root for as the season winds down. Who knows—maybe Meyers can reach the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career; just 198 yards over the next three games would get him there!
